Excellent idea. Cut off the power at the wall, not at the power strips, thus easily and quickly stopping phantom power drain from everything plugged into the wall outlet. (And if the spaghetti of wires behind your computers looks like mine, then you probably have more than one power strip. This makes it real easy to turn everything off.)
