How was I to know the revenue was phantom? Yet again California has used MSU* methods for their budget projections. They’ve been making projections based on phantom revenue. As in non-existent revenue. As in never existed in the first place, except in the fevered brains or rolling off lying tongues of weaseldick politicians and [...] The State of California is selling the Orange County Fairgrounds in a frantic attempt to raise money to cover its ballooning deficit. You can also buy a nice youth correctional facility in Whittier from the state. No word on whether the youth are still inside it or not. Perhaps it could be turned into [...] A broke state says it will issue IOUs until its legislature acts like adults and passes a budget (don’t hold your breath) but then can’t even get it together to send the IOUs out. Truly, such incompetence is breathtaking. Why, it’s beyond Palinesque, is what it is. How much longer until the IOUs get tranched [...] Ok, so does anyone actually know how big the California budget deficit is? Because it keeps growing. Why just a few months ago it was $12 billion. Then $15 billion. Then, whoopsie, they admitted it was really $22 billion. Now it’s $40 billion. So, are they incompetent, lying, or is the worsening economy impacting [...] |  | ||||
