NSA program collects ‘nearly everything a user does on the internet’

Glenn Greenwald has a bombshell article on the ravenous beast that is NSA, which is hoovering up every piece of personal data it can find while ignoring laws and continually lying to Congress. Even worse, Greenwald documents how any NSA analyst can look at any data without authorization. NSA is a deranged beast that must be destroyed. The data can obviously be used to target political and business opponents (NSA admits to swapping data with thousands of companies.) Snowden walked away with thousands of documents,. How many other NSA analysts are doing the same, perhaps to sell the data or for blackmail?

XKeyscore gives ‘widest-reaching’ collection of online data
NSA analysts require no prior authorization for searches
Sweeps up emails, social media activity and browsing history

XKeyscore, the documents boast, is the NSA’s “widest reaching” system developing intelligence from computer networks – what the agency calls Digital Network Intelligence (DNI). One presentation claims the program covers “nearly everything a typical user does on the internet”, including the content of emails, websites visited and searches, as well as their metadata.
