Let me get this straight. The Egyptian military forces a democratically elected leader from power, suspends the Constitution, shuts down opposition media outlets and arrests its leaders, but this is not a coup. Because if it was a coup then the US could legally no longer give military and financial aid to Egypt. And clearly that can’t be allowed to happen so the White House and its assorted sock puppets in the media are desperately trying to pretend it was a non-coup coup, which is certainly so much easier than trying to follow all those pesky rules and laws.
Leahy: “our law is clear: US aid is cut off when a democratically elected govt is deposed by military coup or decree” http://t.co/k5ZzuBnV7W
