America is increasingly a loser on cleantech

We talk a good game about cleantech and renewable energy yet other countries are zooming ahead of us.

Here are some sobering facts: China gets 15% of its energy from renewables, where we only get 8%; Israel ranks higher than the US on the Global Cleantech Innovation Index; Brazil is kicking our butt with biofuel production; and even Finland is out innovating us with green design.

Plus, the US still has no offshore wind turbines and Congressional battles are crippling solar and wind because rules, laws, tax credits, and taxes are constantly changing making planning difficult.
