Google Flu Trends tracks geographical areas of those searching for “flu.” It’s proven to be a solid indicator of where the flu is. As you can see by the charts, the numbers are soaring. Only a few states, including California where I am, have a “high” infection rate. Everywhere else is worse, with “intense” infection rates. We are off the charts this year…
CDC urges you to take these steps to protect yourself and others from the flu:
- Get vaccinated against flu – it’s your best defense
- Cover your cough, wash hands often.
- Take antiviral drugs if your doctor recommends them.
My sister in Connecticut got flatten by the flu. She thought it was just a cold until she went to a doctor who gave her drugs which knocked the beastie out.
