Going to war is seldom sparked by one particular act. The decision to go to war with Iran has probably been taken sometime ago, but they need to justify it with a series of hate and scaremongering events to give the impression that they have been tolerant. It makes you sick in the pit of your stomach that all these wars are cold blooded decisions made by those who will never be involved but stand to gain most. The slaughter of the innocent is never considered, the big bad leader must be stopped and if that means the death of thousands then so be it, in the end we get the gas and oil. People must never be allowed to stand in the way of a resource grab.
