Storing wind power energy in compressed air tanks.

Storing excess wind power as compressed air in underground caverns to drive turbines later when needed is cost-effective and useful. But that means siting wind farms where the caverns are.

SustainX thinks they have an even more cost effective approach. Store the energy in compressed air tanks and use pistons not turbines to create the power.
