This massive tidal turbine is designed by Iberdrole, the giant Spanish wind turbine company. They plan to install them off the inner Hebrides where they will generate 10 MW, double the power needed for two nearby islands.

Good to see, at the moment Scotland already exports electricity and could produce much more from a variety of green methods. We have lots of fast tidal waterways round a host of off shore islands, a rather mountainous landscape well suited to hydro power and the wind is seldom still. We do not need nuclear and most Scots don’t want nuclear.
Indeed. Scotland has huge amounts of wave and wind power to use as well as hydro and could become a renewable energy giant.
Any danger to marine life from those blades?
AFAIK, the blades don’t move fast enough to be a danger
