Largest sloping green roof in North America collapses

An ice dam on the roof apparently blocked water from melting snow from draining properly. The roof was 250,000 sq ft and was a “virtual prarie meadow in the sky.”

This was almost certainly not directly to the roof having plants on it but much more because of the huge amounts of snow this year. Ordinary roofs on houses in Connecticut have been collapsing too, also due to snow.
