World’s fastest solar car, no batteries, just solar cells

The Sunswift Ivy solar car reached almost 55 mph, a new record for a car powered solely by solar cells with no battery packs. It was designed and built by students at the University of South Wales, beat the previous record by a substantial margin and the record was certified by the Guinness Book of World Records.
