This looks like a great idea and almost seems ingenious. Even if there had to be some slight reconstruction of bridges and roadways, that would still be a lot less resource intensive than building a whole subway system. Something like this would be great for Los Angeles. People might have to adjust to driving a certain way on particular roadways, but that is already true in some sense for the one-way streets and those that share Rapid Bus and light rail lines.
