Solar paint

Chicago-based NextGen Solar is doing R&D into solar paint and hopes to make it a commercial product

The breakthrough is a new kind of material that can be applied like paint to walls, roofs, windows or just about anything. In layman’s terms, when the material dries, it forms tiny, inter-connected solar cells.

If this works, it could be huge, with both higher efficiency and lower cost.
