World’s largest solar power project closer to reality

Twelve major companies have signed an agreement to move forward with the gigantic solar power belt planned for the Sahara desert. When completed it will output a stunning 100 GW. Wow. (1 GW is equal to a nuclear facility or a big coal plant.)

  1. Wow! That would be a boon for sub-Saharan Africa, as well as Europe! If I were going to plunk down dollars on foreign investments, Africa looks ripe for the plucking. So many resources! So many markets! A wealthy Africa make the whole world wealthier, just as a healthier Africa makes the whole world healthier. We’re all in this together.
