Our five foster kittens are about 7 weeks old now and exploding with energy. Their mom went back home a few days ago. She needed to be separated from them so she would stop lactating, which is essential before she is fixed. We took her and the 1 week old kittens from a married couple with two kids in a tiny apartment. They just didn’t have space.
Wasn’t sure how it would work out when we returned her. I carried her in, opened the carrier, and Mrs Moms walked out. The couple’s six yo daughter yelled excitedly “Kitty is back.” When we left, Mrs Moms was snuggled in the mother’s arms, purring happily, looking completely relaxed and relieved to be back home.
She was a great mom. Always there for her kittens.
