Midwest farmers receive about $12,000 per wind turbine

Rain or shine. Good harvest season or bad. And they don’t have to do anything. Such wind turbine royalties could certainly make the difference between a small farmer making it or going under.

  1. Some of the windiest land is Kansas ranch land and those folks started putting in turbines – great way to keep the ranch running in a bad year. And the turbine guys are nicer to deal with and don’t trash the land like the oil and gas lease folks.

  2. It wouldn’t take many turbines to support a family at $12K a pop. (Two would do it for us!) After that, it’s gravy.

  3. How much is the rated power of this turbine? If it is a 10kw wind turbine. This income is very high. The ROI is 3-4 years. This is a very efficient payback time.
