California ballot propositions crushed

All the ballot propositions were defeated except for F (which limits pay raises for state officials). The budget train wreck continues.

Make no mistake, this was a voter revolt. And it was across the board. As mentioned before, both the right wing Howard Jarvis Taxpayer Foundation and the Peace and Freedom Party, the only socialist party in California with ballot status, were opposed to the propositions.

The biggest problem with the propositions, as I see it, is that they were weasel-worded, deceptive, and sneaky. Had they been fairly written, with clear explanations of why Californians need to do something to solve the budget crisis, they might well have passed. But instead, they treated the voters like stupid children who needed to be lied to.

Obama treats the voters and public like adults. The California legislature and Governor Schwarzenegger should try doing the same.
