US on Sri Lanka: Both sides killing civilians

Via BBC: U.S. State Department image of the conflict area in Sri Lanka, taken this month after approximately 100,000 refugees were herded onto the beach near the so-called safe zone. Â  U.S. State Department spokesman Robert Wood said,

“There continues to be firing from both sides into the no-fire zone, and we have credible reports of increasing casualties as a result.”

This based on U.S. satellite photos of the conflict zone.  Finally, independent corroboration of charges human rights organizations (including the U.N.) have made against both sides.
