Flint, Mich. may do triage on self

When the US economy catches a cold, Detroit ends up in the emergency room and Flint goes on life support.

Rather than wait out the inevitable decline, Flint is thinking about simply moving residents from dead quadrants of the city to the remaining viable areas, then demolishing those areas and letting them return to forest.

And they probably won’t be the only city to do triage on itself.

  1. I think that’s a great idea as long as it’s optional. If you want to swap houses with one in a valid area, great. If not, be prepared to live on the end of a culdesac in the middle of a growing forest. Either sounds like a win to me.
