The Facebook “Which deviation are you” quiz has sternly informed me that I have grievously fallen from Correct Marxist Thinking. Should I denounce myself as anarcho / reformist slime and form a splinter group off myself? Surely that will be the mighty blow that leads to the end of capitalism.
Or maybe the over-reliance by some on the socialist left about what long-dead communists said is holding them back from genuinely organizing now, in the middle of a real capitalist crisis. Capitalism happily reinvents constantly, morphing instantly into something new as needed. The left sometimes has trouble doing that. I think it holds us back.
