Gorbachev: US and world needs perestroika now

“We need to find a new model of capitalism, taking the best of the old model and the best of socialism… From capitalism, it must take incentives and stimulus and from socialism, more equality and social justice.”

[Gorbachev said] America was no longer in a position to tell others how to act and now needed perestroika – which means restructuring – of its own, 20 years after he had brought the process to fruition in the Soviet bloc.
