Sibel Edwards was a Turkish language translator who claims she heard covert tape recordings showing that a senior State Dept. official was selling [military and nuclear] info on the black market.
After testifying in secret to Congress and seeing nothing happen, she contacted the Times of London.
The name of the official – who has held a series of top government posts – is known to The Sunday Times. He strongly denies the claims.
Edmonds said: “He was aiding foreign operatives against US interests by passing them highly classified information, not only from the State Department but also from the Pentagon, in exchange for money, position and political objectives.”
She also says the FBI is gathering info against senior Pentagon officials “including household names” for the same crimes.
In researching this article, The Sunday Times has talked to two FBI officers (one serving, one former) and two former CIA sources who worked on nuclear proliferation. While none was aware of specific allegations against officials she names, they did provide overlapping corroboration of Edmonds’s story.
One of the CIA sources confirmed that the Turks had acquired nuclear secrets from the United States and shared the information with Pakistan and Israel. “We have no indication that Turkey has its own nuclear ambitions. But the Turks are traders. To my knowledge they became big players in the late 1990s,†the source said.

Sibel doesn’t say anything about the photos – or the people in the photos – but we can reasonably presume that they are the 21 guilty people in her case.

Ooo-kay now, so what are the possibilities? a) US security has been penetrated deeply. Traitors exist in high places. b) The US government wanted to get the info to Israel and Pakistan through back channels, and if someone did some income supplementation along the way, well, nobody saw nothing. c) This is the surfacing of some wheels within wheels nastiness and backstabbing between FBI, CIA, and other intelligence agencies. d) It’s all a bunch of hooey and she’s a nut case.
I lean towards b) with a bit of c) tossed in. But given the Alice in Wonderland down the rabbit hole nature of things like this, who knows. What say you?
