Non-citizens, you can die for the US

From the homepage of the Selective Service System (AKA the Draft Board)

ATTENTION, UNDOCUMENTED MALES
& IMMIGRANT SERVICING GROUPS!

If you are a man ages 18 through 25 and living in the U.S., then you must register with Selective Service. It’s the law. You can register at any U.S. Post Office and do not need a social security number. Be sure to register before your 26th birthday. After that, it’s too late! Selective Service does not collect any information which would indicate whether or not you are undocumented. You want to protect yourself for future U.S. citizenship and other government benefits and programs by registering with Selective Service. Do it today.

Well I certainly believe them when they say they won’t tattle on the undocumented to the immigration service and no doubt the undocumented believe them too.

A non-citizen can become a citizen by volunteering in the US military. Some have done just that, been shipped to Iraq, killed, and then awarded citizenship posthumously…

  1. Not only that, but about the only way to get to be a citizen is posthumously. If you make it back alive, more often than not they try to turn around and deport non-citizens. Usually they deport them for not keeping their visa up to date, or for not registering properly. This is so they don’t have to provide vet benefits for them. It’s shameful, but happening all the time. Just Google for it and you’ll find hundreds of stories as examples. (Mainly from left-wing press, church groups, and blogs, nothing main stream of course.)
