VP Biden says Assange is a “high tech terrorist.” Really? Terrorism is generally understood to include the deliberate targeting of civilians and noncombatants for death or injury. Thus, Assange is not even remotely a terrorist by any definition and Biden should be ashamed of himself, if he’s capable of it, which is doubtful. Plus, only [...] Clearly concerned about the so-called “enthusiasm gap” between likely Republican and likely Democratic voters, the White House recently began what is effectively a new campaign to shore up support for Democratic candidates among the party’s most vocal activists, and, by extension, its base. However, the explicit message of this campaign is highly counter-intuitive, at [...] As with the first presidential debate, the Democrats appear to have won among the swing voters. And that’s really all that matters. The hard core on either side aren’t going to change and their votes aren’t in play. It’s the undecideds that both sides want. BTW, McCain gave up on Michigan today, pulling resources out. [...] Despite all the previous grumbling about Obama possibly choosing a safe, gray haired Anglo, his choice of Biden has been quite well received. Hillary has blessed it, and Biden’s zinger about McCain having to choose between seven kitchen tables seems to have sealed the deal. The Democratic Party is unifying. |  | ||||
