About

Bob MorrisWhat the heck does the name Politics in the Zeros mean, you ask?

Several things, actually. This is the first decade of a new century so the years have lots of zeros in them. Plus, politics is about money, so there’s lots of zeros there too. Also, in my opinion, many politicians are themselves zeros. So, there you have it.

Bob Morris, the webmaster, currently lives near San Francisco with his wife Sue, and is interested in the political ramifications of global warming and peak oil. How do we organize for change here? To work towards solving these problems societies as a whole need to work together. We no longer have time for squabbling (or idiotic wars). Also, solutions will require huge amounts of money and resources as well as new directions for the planet. This means governments and business must become involved on a massive basis.

Prior to moving to the Bay Area in 2008, I lived in L.A. From 2004-2007 I was active in a major antiwar coalition, helping to organize numerous protests, including mass demonstrations that drew tens, sometimes hundreds of thousands.

From 2001-2003, I was Co-coordinator of the Green Party of Los Angeles County and a precinct captain for Clinton in ‘92.

From Aug. 2002 to Oct 23, 2005, Polizeros was published using Radio Userland. Here’s how I converted from Radio to WordPress. If you’re interested, you can find the entire Radio Userland archive exactly as it was (with comments) here.

Thanks for the recommendation to Lynda.com - it’s just what I’ve been looking for.

Thanks also for your blogs. We share the leftie perspective, but my focus is on teaching, both within the academy and in the local communities.

Hey all — was hoping that someone could clue me in on a total n00b CSS issue:

I’m trying to customize the Random Image Theme for Wordpress, and I’m running into a small — but *incredibly annoying* — problem.

I’m trying to make the background of the content area white. The background of navigation column that runs down the right side is not plain white (FFFFFF). Rather Photoshop’s color picker claims that it’s F9F9F9 — but this isn’t anywhere in the style.css file. There is a .alt that has a background set at F8F8F8, but when I change that to FFFFFF, it doesn’t help.

Where is that shading coming from?

    many thanks…

I found using wordpress to design my web sites a great time saver and with plugins for automatic sitemap generation and SEO optimisaion and easy changing of themes its such a web design time saver. If fact i just made a template from the theme im currently using and after veiwing the souce code i just saved as html and with a bit of copy and pasting moved all the content on my older html pages to the new template now my older pages all look the same as the blog template. On a new site this isnt a problem but this one has been around a while before i used wordpress. Still have a load of article pages to move over but i should be able to automate some of it with a few block text replacer programs i have.

I’d like to run this photo in Downtown Now magazine in Springfield, Missouri. We’re doing a three-part immigration story and using that infamous sign as a background for some statistics. I think this counterpoint is brilliant.

Hi. I was hoping to send you the 40 page political parable I’m on the verge of having published that’s about undoing all of Bush’s support and the urgent need to confront global warming.
