You don’t need to make it up, the Catholic Church will give you all the filth and corruption you will ever desire. For centuries it has been the seat of financial and sexual abuse, devious in-fighting for power, and cosying up to despots across the globe. How it survives is a mystery to me. But then again, we have plethora of corrupt institutions in this world, the church is just one of the nastier.
