13 yo devises way to maximize solar power


7th grader Aidan Dwyer looked at tree branches in the winter, thought they might be in a Fibonacci Sequence. He researched it, and then arranged solar panels in a tree pattern and tested in against conventional arrangement of panels. The tree pattern made substantially more electricity.

    Duh. Why do plants obey the Fibonacci series? To maximize reception of sunshine! (The 7th grader apparently read the material on Fibonacci numbers.)
