Scotland has the tidal power. This project will generate 8 MW and cost £40 million. Maybe someday, and not too far off either, Scotland will generate most of its power from tides and wind.

Scotland already produces more electricty than it uses and exports it down south. That is one of the reasons most Scots are against any further nuclear development in Scotland. We could cetainly produce enough power from wave, tidal, hydro and wind to see to our needs and some to spare. The Scottish government has stated in its manifesto that it will do this by 2020. Will it happen, well that’s another matter.
Some have called Scotland the “Saudi Arabia of renewable energy” because of its huge resources in wind, wave, tidal, and hydro.
A cost of 40 pounds? What a bargain – I’ll take a dozen! (Actually the linked article says the cost is 40 *million* pounds.)
At £40 the world’s energy crisis is over. Do they do smaller individual ones for the garden stream at say £15?
