Scoble profiles IBM’s research into lithium air batteries for cars.

[IBM] hopes to have a lithium air battery in cars by 2020. A battery that could power a car for 500 miles would certainly be worth the wait.

Human caused carbon dioxide emissions cause an increasingly catastrophic imbalance in the carbon cycle. Why would anyone think that an air battery, which consumes oxygen from the air, would be suitable for the future?

IBM have an agenda to be leaders in the market place, not necessarily for the benefit of people in general. Do we want the entire world population running around in electric cars, or is it just for the better off in the developed world. Think of a world where the entire population drives a car of any kind, it would be a disaster of unimaginable preportions. We have to think away from the car, or to be fair, allow everybody on the planet to have one.
