Assam tea taste, crop yields affected by climate change

The yield for Assam tea is dropping fast despite being grown on more land, and the tea is losing its distinctive flavor. Climate change, as well as changing fertilizer and cultivation methods, are the apparent suspects. With the taste gone, international sales will surely drop.

Average temperatures in the region have increased 1°C over the past 60 years, with rainfall declining by 20%.
