Ahem, while I realize Brooklyn doesn’t get many tornadoes thus this was outside the experience of the filmers, it still seems stunningly stupid to stand on a balcony as a tornado comes down the street.

This was a block away from my house and there were a few people out in the madness. I’ve uploaded some of the pics to facebook; a few smashed cars, lots of toppled trees, broken windows, and siding torn off buildings. When the funnel cloud hit our building it felt like an earthquake. Pretty scary stuff.
I’ve been through big hurricanes and earthquakes but not tornadoes. Hope I never do. Having one hit your building would be deeply scary.
