From CNet Greentech comes news of Ice Energy’s Ice Bear creates ice during hours of lower demand, then uses it to pump cold refrigerant to the air conditioner during the day.
The Southern California Public Power Authority says this could move 53 MW of electricity consumption from peak times to off hours, lowering stress on the system and cutting prices as well.
