Diesel-electric supercar has 80 mile battery range, gets 44 mpg after that

Capstone Turbine has developed a prototype diesel-electric sports car that does 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 150 mph. It’ll do 80 miles on the battery and an additional 420 on the diesel microturbine. It’s also quiet and clean.
