LA Fire department report 2:30pm PDT

– Containment: 5%
– Acres:105,000 acres at this time.
– Fire Behavior: Fire behavior is extremely active with rapid rates of spread and flame lengths up to 80 feet.

It’s big, still uncontrolled, moving in multiple directions, with thousands of homes in danger, and is threatening the Mt. Wilson transmitters and observatory.

Two firefighters are dead. Three people who refused to evacuate and tried to stay in their hot tub were badly burned. Another five who also refused to leave are now stranded and somehow must be rescued.

You often can not outrun these fires, or even be able to outdrive them. That’s how fast they can move.

  1. I keep tellin’ people ’round here not to worry about this little “downturn”, ‘cuz with no water in Arizona and Cali on fire, these people are going to move here.

    Sucks but true.
