Obama orders Gitmo closed

He promised he would do it, and now he has.

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, in order to effect the appropriate disposition of individuals currently detained by the Department of Defense at Guantanamo and promptly to close the detention facility at Guantanamo consistent with the national security and foreign policy interests of the United States, in the interest of justice, I hereby order … Guantanamo will be closed no later than one year from now.

Like Johnny Cash sang about San Quentin

San Quentin, may you rot and burn in hell.
May your walls fall and may I live to tell.
May all the world forget you ever stood.
And may all the world regret you did no good

San Quentin, I hate every inch of you.

  1. The prisoners haven’t been convicted of being terrorists, or even had their “day in court.” Ah, habeus corpus! Saving us from a long bondage scene since 1305. Though not without glitches like Gitmo.
