The latest Pew Research poll shows Obama with his widest margin ever over McCain, 53% to 39%.
Failin’ Palin must have been sleeping during 8th grade civics class because yesterday she said the vice president is “in charge of the United States Senate.”

This is a smart and ingenious way to create energy. Geothermal has the potential to create massive amounts of power.

Yes, this is the same barking at the moon insane Frontpage that foams at the mouth so much about the evil liberals that they need a towel to wipe the spittle off their faces. I guess sales of their “Party of Defeat” are so dismal so they’ve been reduced to trying to get lefties to review it so they can attack the review on their website.

I ordered a pitcher of beer and a pepperoni, pineapple, and jalapeno pizza, and settled in, expected to read roughly a third of the book. And then, about halfway down the first page, I noticed a serious problem with my plan. The. Book. Is. Unimaginably. Terrible. You may think you can guess how bad it is, but you can’t. It’s Benji Saves the Universe Terrible. It’s notes on each of the first seventy pages terrible. It’s spitting up your valuable, valuable beer terrible. There’s just nothing there. It can’t be engaged with, any more than the homeless dude with the tinfoil hat can.
But he resolutely soldiered on, finished the review, and then made contributions to Obama and others with some of the money.
Disruptive power tech

BlackLight Power claims their 1 and 50 kW power generators have passed validation studies. If this turns out to be accurate, then get ready for the destruction of the macro-power utility along with the macro-finance entities.
They claim, and independent research is backing them up, to have found a new way to extract energy from hydrogen.
One day, hopefully soon, micro power will be everywhere. And it will truly be a disruptive technology.
Transit agencies face financial damage from AIG collapse

Los Angeles MTA, San Franscisco BART and Muni, D.C. Metro, and 26 other large municipal transport agencies are facing massive financial problems because they all got real clever and did lease-back deals with AIG, selling them their assets, then leasing them back.
Now that AIG has gone kersplat, the agencies must either buy back the assets or find new leaseholders. Either way, it will be expensive and will inevitably lead to cuts in services and increased fares.
Tell me again why selling primary assets to another entity in return for a one-time payment is prudent, or even rational, for a public utility?
The free marketer’s “magic of the marketplace” has cast yet another curse. But you can bet investment banks made millions off it.
