It will be a demonstration of how hot rocks geothermal is a viable option. So, they will build a 1 MW plant and the 12 residents of the town will get free power.
These are exciting times for power generation, with all manner of new ideas being tried and tested. Some, undoubtedly, will go mainstream. Other may remain niche sources, but hey, you you live near geothermal sources, they why get power from other sources that may be miles away. Localized power generation from micro sources can provide plenty of power too.
