Ron Paul raised nearly $20 million in 4Q 2007

This puts him in the major leagues of campaign fundraising. Love him or hate him, something unusual is happening with the Paul campaign and neither mainstream nor blog media is tracking it with any accuracy.

You’re quite right about this. There is something unusual going on. I’d like to see who the sources of all this money are.
happy new year,

A lot of his support (and presumably contributions) comes from geeks. Chris Pirillo got on early. Adam Curry is a big supporter. They like his libertarian message and geeks do know how to spread a meme on the net.
His message is clearly resonating and I predict he’ll do surprising well in at least some of the upcoming primaries.

Andrew Sullivan has been tracking his campaign regularly.
Part of the Ron Paul phenomenon, of course, is that there are no other conservative candidates– just neo-liberal “neo-cons.” And the traditional conservative nessage sounds pretty good to many of us battered by decades of big-government, privacy-invading, debt-and-spend Republicans.
