Connecticut. It’s the new California

That’s what Sue says, and events are proving her correct.

It will be 85 today in Hartford CT and the state just issued a drought advisory.

(However rain may be coming this week and we are way less impacted than southern California and  the South. Reservoirs in the Hartford area are down just 5%, but it hasn’t rained for six weeks, which is unusual.)

Conservatives fight back against neocons

What in God’s Name has happened to the Republican Party?” ask those who consider themselves to be genuine conservatives. They want to take their party back from neocon and Christianist hijackers.

We on the Left can only hope this happens. It’s not our fight to fight nor can we do much to help.

Leading economic indicators

1) You’ll be excited to learn the IRS has a new web page aimed at homeowners facing foreclosure. We look forward to their informational sites on whether cardboard boxes can be considered as housing for tax purposes and thus if expenses used in maintaining them are then considered deductible.

2) According to Bloomberg TV, “spirit sales are up 25%”, a sure sign that economic conditions are worsening. Hey, if you got foreclosed and lost your job, you might want to get hammered too. Maybe it’s time to buy stock in alcoholism treatment clinics.
