CFL rebates

Connecticut is one of many states that subsidizes purchase of Energy Star compliant CFLs. If the bulb qualifies (not all do), then you can buy them anywhere in the state for a dollar or less each, a major savings indeed.
Check the list to see if your state has such programs.
