Protest Minutemen in Hollywood this Sat.

Ant-Minutemen protest, ANSWERla.org
The Minutemen will be marching in Hollywood Saturday in support of two U.S. border patrol agents and one deputy sheriff who were convicted of shooting unarmed immigrants (one was shot in the back.). While most would consider shooting someone in the back to be cowardly and vile, the Minutemen apparently think it’s just fine, so long as the victim has brown skin.

Let’s all be there to greet them with a counter-protest.

Meet at Hollywood and Argyle at 10:30 or at the ANSWER LA office one block north at Hollywood and Yucca at 10.

Poverty: Asking the hard questions

During my summer trip to India, I learned that children are starving in Bangladesh. Why? An American boycott of products made with child labor put them out of work. Now they have no way to support themselves.

If children in such dire situations don’t work, they and their parents could easily starve. The ethical response to such problems are explored by AsymptoticLife, who also asks if giving money to beggars or being deliberately over-charged and paying it because you are an American and presumably rich is the right thing to do.

The Right Stuff?

Anyone who drives 900 miles nonstop wearing a diaper so she doesn’t have to stop to pee was, in my estimation, wired to the eyeballs on speed.

The other possibility - that she did the whole thing without ingesting any drugs - is even scarier.
