Hillary-speak

[Hillary] Clinton said she and some other members of the committee supported resolutions opposing the troop increase “not because we in any way embrace failure or defeat, but because we are trying to get the attention of our government and the government of Iraq.”
Like the war doesn’t already have the attention of everyone? Failure and defeat IS what’s happening to the US in Iraq even if DC politicos won’t admit it.
That’s because most of them still favor the war even though it’s getting politically risky for them to say so since the populace opposes it by a wide margin. Thus you have them making evasive comments like the above which, if you analyze them, do not oppose the war even slightly. Clinton simply wants a better, smarter war that the US wins, no matter that the premise for that war was based on lies and deception.
