Dems continue to support war while pretending not to

Sen. Biden, who is supposed to be liberal, says golly there’s just no way to stop Bush from having troops in Iraq indefinitely and we just don’t want to go mucking about blocking funding because that would be tacky.
Actually Senator, there is a way. Like Vito Corleone in The Godfather said to his whimpering godson Johnny Fontaine, “you can act like a man.”
Lat time I checked, only Congress has the authority to start wars, and they can also stop funding them. All that’s needed is resolve. But that would be bad for the economy and campaign contributions. “There’s plenty good money to be made / By supplying the Army with the tools of the trade.”
Politicians come and go. The real problem is the military industrial complex and the craven, complicit politicians they support and control.

Bob,
Not to nitpick, but Vito said that to his godson, Johnny Fontaine, not Fredo.

Whoops. Fixed. Thx.
Well, he *could* have said it to Fredo :->
