Social unrest in China

Unrest and riots in China have gotten serious enough that party newspapers are acknowledging they are happening and that reforms are needed to end the increasing disparity between rich and poor.

Western China is semi-arid desert and has little in common with Beijing ethnically, culturally, or anything else. And that’s where much of the unrest is.
