International Walk Against Warming
Dave Riley @ Nov 5th 2006 20:31 - Category: Unfiled
According to news last night, Sydney, Melbourne & London had the biggest protests (on Saturday November 4) in the world.
Here are some pics of the Sydney Walk Against Warming yesterday. The organisers claim 47,000 marched (they say they had counters) and in Melbourne they claimed 30,000. Other figures are 2,000 in Brisbane, 2,000 in Canberra, 3-5,000 in Hobart, 1,000 in Wollongong….
Further reports here of Australian rallies.
The keen response to this call in the context of a new push by both major parties here in Australia to expand uranium mining suggests that a new movement is coalescing.
