Question: Who on earth pays that much for a website?

I have some experience in this. I have designed, developed and maintained campaign websites for candidates in high-profile U.S. Senate campaigns, and the charges involved were nowhere near what Armstrong is getting from Brown. It is so far over the top and out of the realm of normal website fees that it cries out for closer examination.

It get stinkier, DailyKos backed Brown’s opponent until Brown signed on.

Markos flip-flopped immediately after Jerome started cashing Brown’s checks. DailyKos had been a vociferous booster of Brown’s primary opponent, but Markos suddenly dumped him like a diseased whore, loudly embracing Brown instead.

Though Armstrong’s message board postings related to Bluepoint are no longer available on Raging Bull, I found dozens of messages on the InvestorsHub site in which he promoted a related company before a merger, never revealing he was issued 25,000 shares in the deal.

Netroots, DailyKos and MyDD, tout themselves as the new politics, free of taint and monied interests, yet this seems no difference at all.

They also appear more than a bit naive. From Newsweek -

The massive glaciers are deteriorating twice as fast as they were five years ago. If the ice thaws entirely, sea level would rise 21 feet.

Climate experts have started to worry that the ice cap is disappearing in ways that computer models had not predicted.

In a way no one had detected, the warm water made its way through thousands of feet of ice to the bedrock — in weeks, not decades or centuries.

“This meltwater acceleration is new,” Zwally said. “The significance of this is that it is a mechanism for climate change to get into the ice.”

This is observable fact. Not speculation. Clearly, something major is happening with the climate. Enormous ice sheets don’t just up and start melting for no apparent reason.

Not that this is news, but at least it’s ‘official’ now.

Christian Coalition leader Ralph Reed was paid more than $4 million by disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff’s influence peddling operation on behalf of Indian gambling interests, a Senate report released Thursday said.

The report said tax-cut advocate Grover Norquist served as a buffer between Abramoff’s casino gambling money and Reed. Norquist’s Americans for Tax Relief served as a conduit for the payments from the Choctaws to Reed’s operation, while Norquist, a close White House ally, took a cut, the panel said.
