Reid aided Ambramoff clients
Bob Morris @ Feb 10th 2006 06:50 - Category: Unfiled
Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid wrote at least four letters helpful to Indian tribes represented by Jack Abramoff, and the senator’s staff regularly had contact with the disgraced lobbyist’s team about legislation affecting other clients.
The activities - detailed in billing records and correspondence obtained by The Associated Press - are far more extensive than previously disclosed. They occurred over three years as Reid collected nearly $68,000 in donations from Abramoff’s firm, lobbying partners and clients.
As complicit as Republicans? Yes.

How many letters did Reid write for tribes before Abramoff was on the scene?
Your suggestion that this makes Reid as complicit as the Republicans is hogwash.
Abramoff was, along with Noe of Ohio, primarily an ILLEGAL FUNDRAISER for the rightwing coup that took over America.
Reid had absolutely nothing to do with that, and this piece of supposed complicity is NOTHING like complicity in a coup.
As Senator from Nevada, Harry Reid writes LOTS of letters for tribes, and gets lots of donations as a result of serving his constituents.
What you’re quoting is propaganda, intended to sell a false analogy.
You’re promoting Bush’s propaganda. Do you think that’s your purpose?

The defensiveness of Democrats on this and other Abramoff-linked Congressional Dems speaks volumes.
