Let’s hope the agreement means the workers get to keep their pensions

    $47,000 starting salary? Retirement at 55? I have a hard time feeling anything for the workers when most of
    the people they move from place to place are much worse off.

    From the “Five myths” linked to from our previous post.

    “Newly hired workers start at $35,000 per year in gross (not take-home) pay. That’s way less than it takes to support a family in New York City. With prices of everything rising, the union’s demand for a 6% raise per year might keep up the increases in the cost of living.”

    And because someone might make more than you, you shouldn’t ever support them in a fight? United we stand, divided we fall.
