Cali Supremes reject Williams’ appeal

The California Supreme Court on Sunday rejected a last-minute legal effort to block Tuesday’s execution of convicted murderer Stanley Tookie Williams, while Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger put off announcing any decision on whether to spare his life until today.

If the execution happens, gather in LA at the Westwood Federal Building tonight at 6 pm.

Note to white racists: Comment moderation is on, so your bilge against Tookie will never appear online here. Also, you might want to get spell and grammar checkers so your comments don’t appear as if they were written by illiterates.

Update: 12:30 pm. I can’t imagine why Schwarzenegger would wait so long if he was going to grant clemency. Thus, I’m now assuming it will not be granted.

  1. The Holy Spirit’s message on The Christian Prophet blog today says that as long as Tookie lives on earth he pays the price for his mistakes, but when no longer living on earth he is totally forgiven and free.

  2. OK, this is where the Governor’s office is:

    300 South Spring Street
    Suite 16701
    Los Angeles, CA 90013
    Phone: 213-897-0322
    Fax: 213-897-0319

Other than by arguing what the Nixon and Ford Administratons did to fail Tookie when he was growing up to make him a gang banger, what could it be faulted for? It’s not as if the Supreme Court has a field office on Wilshire.

Having a protest over any nearly issue at the Federal Buildings in Westwood is nearly as effective as having a protest at the corner of Impotent and Incompetant. Take it to ‘burbs where people support capital punishment – shut down their streets, they are the ones accountable as any for having Tookie put to death.

  3. It`s very sad that a so-called “Chistian,” “Democratic,”nation is so possessed of punishment, vengence, and hatred that forgiveness seems to be seriously lacking.
I don`t see the Christian Right as a particularly forgiving group. One must be able to work a forgiveness process in conjunction with a grieving process. To combine grief with true forgiveness,to allow the feelings to be there as big as they are,can be a very difficult process.True healing, along with a sense of acceptance and peace is the gift of the forgiveness process, while punitive action, vengence, and hate stifle any positive outcome while leading to an escalation of arrogant animosity, anger and distrust.
With Tookie William`s death the window of opportunity for benevolence will be nailed shut by the vengeful fools who are blind to the good this man does. They will continue to collude in pervading hell on earth.
    I pity them.
