Sue was scheduled for a breast biopsy today. They did the ultrasound, then the MD went, hmmm, it’s a sebaceous cyst. He drained it, saw no need to do the scheduled bioposy, and sent the samples to cytology, not pathology. Then the words we wanted to hear, "it’s extremely unlikely it is cancer."
Sue said, so it was a big zit, and he said, well, yeah, that’s exactly what it was.
Whew.

The California Supreme Court on Sunday rejected a last-minute legal effort to block Tuesday’s execution of convicted murderer Stanley Tookie Williams, while Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger put off announcing any decision on whether to spare his life until today.
If the execution happens, gather in LA at the Westwood Federal Building tonight at 6 pm.
Note to white racists: Comment moderation is on, so your bilge against Tookie will never appear online here. Also, you might want to get spell and grammar checkers so your comments don’t appear as if they were written by illiterates.
Update: 12:30 pm. I can’t imagine why Schwarzenegger would wait so long if he was going to grant clemency. Thus, I’m now assuming it will not be granted.

Counterfeiting cases point to North Korea
Pyongyang is accused of being behind a growing effort to print and move rafts of U.S. $100 bills.
U.S. authorities have unsealed hundreds of pages of documents in support of the cases in recent months, including an indictment that directly accuses North Korea of making the counterfeit bills, the first time the U.S. has made such an allegation in a criminal case.
The accusation of course contains the requisite extra flourish, making a gratuituous connection to the Nazis.
"This is state-sponsored counterfeiting. I don’t know of any other case like this except the Nazis, and they were doing it in a state of war," said Asher, who headed the administration’s North Korea Working Group
And the evidence is?
Using equipment from Japan, paper from Hong Kong and ink from France, a team of experts was ordered to make fake U.S. $100 bills, said a former North Korean chemist who said his job was to draw the design.
Sound familiar? Much bellicose justification for vengeance based on the testimony of one anonymous person. Because, after three readings of the article, that’s the only actual evidence I can find. Sounds like makin’ shit up again, just like the ‘reasons’ for the Iraq invasion.
Because they are talking war.
But North Korea’s is the only government believed to do so, despite international pressure and laws that characterize such activity as an economic casus belli, or act of war, they say.
The neocons and Bush have lied so many lies and so continually that anything they say, especially when it relates to countries they loathe and want to attack, should be immediately suspect. Especially when the evidence appears flimsy at best.

EU concealed deal with US to allow ‘rendition’ flights
The European Union secretly allowed the United States to use transit facilities on European soil to transport "criminals" in 2003, according to a previously unpublished document. The revelation contradicts repeated EU denials that it knew of "rendition" flights by the CIA.
BlairWatch dissects the lies.
Document shows European Governments agreed to rendition flights: If so, Blair and Staw must be lying.
Other liars would then include Bush, Condi. the CIA, the Pentagon who cry, we are forced, forced I tell you, to torture, because that might prevent Evil Horrible People from Doing Something Hideous, forgetting of course, that torturing a torturer makes you a torturer.

Hong Kong was braced yesterday for its biggest security operation since the handover from British rule in 1997 as thousands of international protesters began flying in to try to derail the World Trade Organisation summit later this week.
As well they should. The WTO primarily exists to give multi-national corporations entry into third world countries - after the WTO has saddled those countries with debt and forced privatization. The WTO defend and promote the interests of the elite, not of the planet.

Exxon chooses U.S. climate negotiator
The fact that Harlan Watson, the lead U.S. climate negotiator in Montreal, has been obstructing negotiations should hardly come as a surprise - as the Washington Post reveals he was hand picked by Exxon Mobil oil for the role. Of all the politically dastardly and potentially ecologically deadly things for a U.S. President to do - in the face of overwhelming scientific evidence that indicts your oil cronies as the cause of massive planetary harm - send a lackey to spearhead the efforts of honest and noble people to do something about climate change. We live in evil times full of evil little leaders.

AmericaBlog is leading the assault against Ford for caving to extreme right homophobia, signing an agreement with a truly noxious organization pledging that Ford will no longer run ads targeted at gays. AmericaBlog has already played a major role in getting this story into mainstream media, and they’re just warming up.
The next phase of the campaign against Ford
Overall, we think there are at least three sides to Phase 2 of the campaign:
1. Paid Media
2. Grassroots
3. ViralLet’s make Ford suffer even more than Paramount when they hired Dr. Laura, even more than Microsoft when it stopped supporting gay civil rights, and even more than America Online when it outed a gay sailor. In each and every case our opponent never knew what hit them, and we won.

More and more, I keep everything online. That way, it matters not what computer I’m using. Right now, my notebook is acting oddly so until it’s fixed, I’m using other computers. When everything is online, this becomes easy.
Here’s how I keep things online, and not on the PC.
Email: I use Gmail and Yahoo mail for the bulk of my email now. They both have excellent anti-spam and anti-virus capabilities. The new Yahoo Mail, in beta now, is reputed to be the equal of Outlook or Thunderbird is terms of power and ease and should be available to all soon.
MyBookmarks.com Upload your web browser bookmarks/favorites and access them online. Easy to use. Then just logon to MyBookmarks from anywhere and all your bookmarks are there. Plus, it’s free.
RSSBandit. This is a RSS reader with a feature I’ve not seen in other RSS readers. You can sync them to Newsgator. Use the PC version of RSSBandit to read your feeds, when done, upload them to NewsGator. Go online, read them in NewsGator. When you get back to the PC, simply download the feeds, and everything is in sync. Wow. And it too is free.
